Mercedes-Benz S600 Sedan Reviews ( 2001 )

Mercedes-Benz S600 ,this car is unbelievable, it rides like no other and is as solid as tank, the V12 pulls great for a 5700lb car. the styling is more than average but could use some better wheels. it handles and surprisingly well even at 100+mph. the cost of ownership is quite high, only due to the fact that any engine components need to be replace in twelves, not in sixes or eights. the gas mileage runs about 13 to 15mpg on premium unleaded.

My 2001 Mercedes-Benz S600 just turned over 106K miles and rides almost like it did when it was new. Although its louder when you are outside the car, the ride inside is pretty much the same. Maintenance costs are brutal. If you buy a used Mercedes-Benz S600 with over 80K miles, plan on spending about $4500 in maintenance at least twice a year. Parts are very expensive and labor is worse. I consider getting rid of it at least twice a year but then do the math and keep on driving it. Cant justify the price of a new one when this one rides and looks so good.

This car is the absolute definition of luxury. ABC Active Body Control has been needed on a few occasions had water pump replaced at 52K had extended warranty (yea!!) otherwise no!!!! issues. I always here people complaining about the S-class, and I say to you how about trying preventive maintance. That means on a regular basis, like oil changes every 3K to 4K miles.
